Grouplove – “Colours” and “Naked Kids”

It’s rare for me to take notice of opening acts at shows, they generally don’t leave much of an impression on me. Grouplove (website/twitter) is an exception.

When they opened for Florence and the Machine at the Wiltern several months ago, I was intrigued. Their sound is quite different and a equal parts indie, pop, rock and different. Their stage presence was youthful and fun, and entertaining the sold out crowd.

The band released a self-titled 6 track EP. The standout track on the EP is the opening track, “Colours”:

They’re a great live band, with high energy and spunk. Here’s a live performance of another great track, “Naked Kids”:

Their EP is available now, and will be releasing their full length album in September… stay tuned.

Glasvegas performs an Acoustic Version of “The World Is Yours”

Glasvegas (website/twitter) is a band that you either really enjoy, or not so much. I happen to enjoy their music, and really like this acoustic performance of “The World Is Yours” from their latest album, EUPHORIC /// HEARTBREAK \\\.

Ellie Goulding performs “Lights” on Live With Regis And Kelly

It’s great to see the hard work of Ellie Goudling (website/twitter) finally paying off in the US. After a sold-out tour and numerous promotional events and television appearances, her album Lights is getting some recognition.

Interest in Ellie spiked when she appeared on Saturday Night Live two weekends ago (watch it here). Her album made an appearance on iTunes top 10 and stayed there for a while. Lights also entered the billboard charts lat week at 82, and is holding onto that spot.
